With 15 minutes a day you build, step by step, a foundation that lets you really join in: at the dinner table, on the phone with family, on holiday in Morocco. You don't have to start at level 1.

How we make our Darija content
Every word, sentence, and pronunciation comes from native speakers: myself and family who listen along and check it. No machine translation, and the Darija is always recorded by native speakers. We deliberately choose words recognized across different regions of Morocco. And digits like 3 and 7 in Darija words aren't typos: they stand for Arabic sounds the Latin alphabet doesn't have.

Do I need a Moroccan background, or to already know Darija?
No, neither. Dariyati is for everyone, from complete beginners to people who already understand a bit.
Can I use Dariyati together with my children?
Yes. Within one family account, multiple profiles can be used, so everyone can learn at their own pace.
Why does the app look different for my young child than for an older child?
Children up to about 8 get the playful "Playground": learning through pictures and games, no reading required. From about 8, the app switches to the "Learning Path" with a daily structure and grammar explanations, matching what a child that age can handle. Grammar topics and the Arabic script only appear in the Learning Path, not in the Playground.
Do I need a credit card, and can I cancel anytime?
A credit card is not needed: you can pay with iDEAL, Google Pay, Apple Pay and other methods. You do link a payment method when your trial starts; we only charge after 14 days, never before. You can cancel anytime, also during the trial.
Are the games included in the subscription?
Yes, every game type can be played free once. After that you unlock it again with coins earned on the Learning Path, a one-time 50 coins per game type. You never pay separately with real money for that.
